Why Mablethorpe properties need moss removal

Mablethorpe is right on the Lincolnshire coast, and homes near the seafront take whatever the North Sea throws at them. Moss removal in Mablethorpe is mostly roofs and paved areas that stay wet after the wind and rain have been through. Moss and lichen settle on the sheltered side first. If they’re left, tiles get lifted and drives and paths turn slippery.

Moss removal in Mablethorpe by Fenland Property Care

When the North Sea weather rolls in

Coastal weather in Mablethorpe means roofs and paving get soaked often, and the side away from the sun dries out slowly. Moss takes hold there on roof tiles and block paving, and it keeps those surfaces damp all year round.

✗

Tiles working loose

Rain gets in when moss roots lift tile edges and push into pointing.

✗

Slippery paving

Wet, mossy paving by the seafront is slippery, so take care until it's cleared.

✗

Trapped damp

Salt air and rain soak the moss, then frost gets in and splits the surface.

✗

Blocked drainage

Clumps also blow or wash into gutters, so the water spills over.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Will sea weather bring the moss straight back?

A: Not straight away, because treatment slows it right down. Even so, the sheltered side of a seafront roof may need retreating occasionally.

Q: Is it done from the ground?

A: Mostly. Since we use ladders and long-reach tools, there's usually no need for anyone to walk on the roof.

Q: Why is moss a problem by the sea?

A: It soaks up rain, so tiles and pointing lift, and it's also slippery on paving. So clearing it saves trouble later.

Q: Are you insured to work on my property?

A: Yes. We carry £1m public liability insurance, and the team is DBS checked.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The operative arrived on time, as arranged. Brought the necessary kit to clean an accumulation of dirt, weeds and debris over several years from our drive and patio. This was accomplished by the end of the working day when all was looking pristine. Surfaces had been cleaned down. A week later they were back to fill the gaps with kiln dried sand and now it looks like new.

My front and back garden look brand new. All slabs are the original colour and weedless and the front is weed free and looks amazing. They worked really hard throughout the day and also returned to finish the work, due to really hot weather. Very good customer service, had a concer and called me back within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend 👌

From start to finish what an absolute pleasure.
No pushy salesman just an authentic genuine quote. Even when I added a couple of bits, nothing was too much trouble. The price was really good too.
Paul and Dale turned up on time on the date stated. Even though the weather was horrible they got cracked on with the job.
They grafted all the time they were there. The work carried out was exceptionally good. They cleaned up all of the mess afterwards and let the place spotless.
I cannot praise them enough.
They treated my mum and her bungalow with the utmost respect.
