Why Metheringham properties need jet washing

Metheringham sits between the clay vale south of Lincoln and the open fens, so it gets a bit of both. The flat fen ground stays damp, which suits moss and algae on drives and render, and the heavy clay soils mean mud gets tracked onto paving after wet weather. The village’s wartime RAF history brings visitors, but for people living here it’s the everyday green growth on paths and patios that needs dealing with.

Jet washing in Metheringham by Fenland Property Care

We clean the older farm properties in the village as well as the post-war estates.

Because the ground stays damp

On the edge of the fen, Metheringham stays damp for most of the year, so a jet wash works better and lasts longer if we pre-treat first and then put a biocide down afterwards.

✗

Mud on the paving

After wet weather, clay gets tracked onto paving and dries into a crust.

✗

When paths turn green

Damp paths go green and slippery, so we treat them before washing.

✗

Faded surfaces

Concrete and block paving lose colour, but most of it comes back after a wash.

✗

Moss and algae

Moss in fen-edge paving holds on until it’s treated, then it rinses off.

These are the surfaces we clean most in and around the village.

Driveways

Block paving, concrete, tarmac and stone, at the right pressure for each.

Patios and paths

Patios and paths cleaned without lifting joints.

Walls and fences

Brick walls, rendered walls and timber fences, each washed at a pressure it can take.

Steps and entrances

Algae cleared from front steps so they’re safe again.

Garage floors

Garage floors are degreased, then pressure cleaned, inside or outside.

Decking

Decking gets a low-pressure wash because timber and composite both mark easily.

How jet washing in Metheringham works

Surface assessment

First, we look at each surface and pick a pressure and detergent.

Pre-treatment

Then a pre-treatment goes on, so the mud and growth break down.

Pressure washing

After that, we wash each surface at a setting it can take.

Post-clean treatment

Finally, since the fen edge stays damp, a biocide slows regrowth.

Questions about jet washing in Metheringham

Q: Do you cover the fen-edge villages around Metheringham?

A: Yes. We cover Nocton, Scopwick and Blankney, as well as Dunston, where we’re based.

Q: Do you use the same pressure on everything?

A: No. Older farmhouse stone gets around 1,500 psi, while concrete on the estates can take 3,000 psi or more.

Q: Can decking be cleaned?

A: Yes, though at low pressure, so the grain on timber or composite stays flat.

Q: Do oil stains come off block paving?

A: Usually. We put a degreaser down first, because it lifts far more than pressure alone.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The operative arrived on time, as arranged. Brought the necessary kit to clean an accumulation of dirt, weeds and debris over several years from our drive and patio. This was accomplished by the end of the working day when all was looking pristine. Surfaces had been cleaned down. A week later they were back to fill the gaps with kiln dried sand and now it looks like new.

My front and back garden look brand new. All slabs are the original colour and weedless and the front is weed free and looks amazing. They worked really hard throughout the day and also returned to finish the work, due to really hot weather. Very good customer service, had a concer and called me back within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend 👌

From start to finish what an absolute pleasure.
No pushy salesman just an authentic genuine quote. Even when I added a couple of bits, nothing was too much trouble. The price was really good too.
Paul and Dale turned up on time on the date stated. Even though the weather was horrible they got cracked on with the job.
They grafted all the time they were there. The work carried out was exceptionally good. They cleaned up all of the mess afterwards and let the place spotless.
I cannot praise them enough.
They treated my mum and her bungalow with the utmost respect.
