Riverside damp and industrial dust both play a part, so jet washing in Gainsborough has to deal with more than moss. We clean drives, patios and walls.
Gainsborough sits on the River Trent, so houses near the water deal with riverside damp and the odd bit of flood residue. The town has a lot of industry too, and dust from the distribution and processing sites along the A631 settles on drives and render over a wide area. The Victorian and Edwardian terraces get the green growth you’d expect in an inland market town, while houses near the Old Hall and the quayside also have the tidal river to contend with.
It’s a real mix here, from Victorian cobbled yards to block paving on the modern estates and the riverside apartments.
Being on the river, Gainsborough’s outside surfaces stay damper than most Lincolnshire towns. Moss and algae can settle on drives and paths within a season, and a jet wash without biocide often sees it back within months.
Since Gainsborough has old cobbles as well as modern paving, we set the pressure for each surface, so joints stay filled and old stone isn’t scoured.
Each surface gets checked, then cleaned without harm.
