Why Alford properties need conservatory cleaning

Alford is a small market town where the Wolds run down towards the coast, and it gets weather from both. Conservatory roofs and frames pick up algae and moss in the damp months, and the uPVC and glass soon look green and tired. If yours has started to leak, check the box gutter first. It’s often blocked.

Conservatory cleaning in Alford by Fenland Property Care

When Wolds rain meets sea air

Alford catches weather off the Wolds and off the coast, so conservatory roofs rarely get a dry spell. Then leaves and algae sit in the box gutter and along the glazing bars until the water backs up and marks the frames.

✗

When the box gutter fills

Once leaves settle in the box gutter, water has nowhere to go, so it finds its way indoors.

✗

Green glazing

Green algae on the roof means less daylight, so the room starts to feel gloomy.

✗

Streaked frames

Frames and finials go a dull grey-green when nobody has washed them for a while.

✗

Before you climb up

Panels crack easily, and if you climb up to clean one yourself you could break it or fall through.

What conservatory cleaning in Alford includes

What we can do for an Alford conservatory, gutters included.

Roof panels first

Glass or polycarbonate, we get the algae and moss off so the light comes back through.

Then the box gutter

The gutter against the house wall is easy to forget, but when it blocks it causes leaks.

Frames as well as ridges

We soft wash the uPVC, including the ridge and finials, until it looks white again.

Glass cleaning

Outside glass cleaned without streaks, but inside panels are something to ask us about.

Moss removal

Moss picked out of the glazing bars and joints, because that is where it hangs on.

Windows also, if you like

If you want the windows and roofline done while we are there, just say.

Conservatory cleaning in Alford, step by step

Assessment

Before anything else we look at the roof type, frames and box gutter, then plan access.

Then the roof and gutter

Next the glazing gets cleaned while the box gutter is cleared out.

After that, the frames

Then the uPVC and side glass are washed so they dry clear.

Final check

Finally we check the water runs off properly before we pack up.

Your questions answered

Q: Do you also clean the roof, or just the windows?

A: The roof is included, so we clean the glass or polycarbonate panels as well as the frames and windows, and we clear out the box gutter too.

Q: If water is getting in, is it worth a clean first?

A: Usually, because a blocked box gutter is a common reason. We clear it during the clean, and if we see something else wrong we will tell you.

Q: Do you need to get up on the roof?

A: No, because conservatory roofs are too fragile, so we use reach-and-wash poles from the ground instead.

Q: What about the inside of the roof?

A: Our focus is the outside, though if the inside glass is safe to reach we can talk about it when you book.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The operative arrived on time, as arranged. Brought the necessary kit to clean an accumulation of dirt, weeds and debris over several years from our drive and patio. This was accomplished by the end of the working day when all was looking pristine. Surfaces had been cleaned down. A week later they were back to fill the gaps with kiln dried sand and now it looks like new.

My front and back garden look brand new. All slabs are the original colour and weedless and the front is weed free and looks amazing. They worked really hard throughout the day and also returned to finish the work, due to really hot weather. Very good customer service, had a concer and called me back within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend 👌

From start to finish what an absolute pleasure.
No pushy salesman just an authentic genuine quote. Even when I added a couple of bits, nothing was too much trouble. The price was really good too.
Paul and Dale turned up on time on the date stated. Even though the weather was horrible they got cracked on with the job.
They grafted all the time they were there. The work carried out was exceptionally good. They cleaned up all of the mess afterwards and let the place spotless.
I cannot praise them enough.
They treated my mum and her bungalow with the utmost respect.
