Why Welton properties need jet washing

Welton is a few miles north of Lincoln, up towards the Lincoln Edge, and it catches more wind and rain than the low ground nearer the city. Roofs and walls facing the weather pick up moss and lichen, and gardens on the clay can leave drives muddy after a wet spell. The older limestone and brick cottages need a gentle, low-pressure clean, while the newer estates can take a standard jet wash.

Jet washing in Welton by Fenland Property Care

Old limestone cottages and modern estates are cleaned differently, so the pressure and cleaner are picked to suit each house.

If moss creeps back between showers

Parts of Welton sit in a sheltered dip where surfaces stay damp between showers, and that’s when moss and algae creep back onto drives and paths. A pre-treatment before the wash, then a biocide afterwards, makes each clean last longer.

✗

Muddy drives

After a wet spell, clay from the gardens dries onto the drive.

✗

When walls face the weather

Walls facing the wind pick up moss and lichen, so they’re treated first.

✗

Slippery paths

Algae on shaded paths gets slick after rain, though a treatment and then a wash clear it properly.

✗

Faded paving

Paving and stone lose colour over time, but most of it comes back.

Surface assessment

First we look at each surface, then choose the pressure and detergent.

Pre-treatment

Then a pre-treatment goes on to loosen the moss, lichen or clay.

Pressure washing

Next comes the jet wash, with less pressure on old stone than on concrete.

Post-clean treatment

If the spot stays damp, a biocide goes on afterwards to slow regrowth.

Welton jet washing questions

Q: Do you cover limestone ridge properties in Welton and the Lincoln Edge villages?

A: Yes. We cover Dunholme, Nettleham, Scothern and Sudbrooke as well, and we’re used to cleaning the limestone houses up on the ridge.

Q: How do you choose the pressure?

A: Surface by surface. Cottage limestone gets around 1,500 psi, while concrete on the estates can take 3,000 psi or more.

Q: Is decking included?

A: Yes, at low pressure, so the grain on timber or composite doesn’t lift.

Q: Can oil be lifted from paving?

A: Usually, since a degreaser goes on before washing and gets far more out than pressure alone.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The operative arrived on time, as arranged. Brought the necessary kit to clean an accumulation of dirt, weeds and debris over several years from our drive and patio. This was accomplished by the end of the working day when all was looking pristine. Surfaces had been cleaned down. A week later they were back to fill the gaps with kiln dried sand and now it looks like new.

My front and back garden look brand new. All slabs are the original colour and weedless and the front is weed free and looks amazing. They worked really hard throughout the day and also returned to finish the work, due to really hot weather. Very good customer service, had a concer and called me back within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend 👌

From start to finish what an absolute pleasure.
No pushy salesman just an authentic genuine quote. Even when I added a couple of bits, nothing was too much trouble. The price was really good too.
Paul and Dale turned up on time on the date stated. Even though the weather was horrible they got cracked on with the job.
They grafted all the time they were there. The work carried out was exceptionally good. They cleaned up all of the mess afterwards and let the place spotless.
I cannot praise them enough.
They treated my mum and her bungalow with the utmost respect.
