Why Alford properties need gutter cleaning

Alford sits where the Lincolnshire Wolds start to drop away to the east, a little higher and more open than the fen towns further south. The coast is only about 8 miles off, so wind from the east and north brings field dust and a touch of salt with it. The Victorian market buildings and the Wolds farmhouses round about tend to grow heavy moss and lichen.

Gutter cleaning in Alford by Fenland Property Care

What the wind off the Wolds does to your gutters

Autumn leaves from the town centre trees are only half of it in Alford. The wind coming off the Wolds carries more in from the woods, so we'd book a clear once a year before winter sets in.

✗

It fills up quickly

Silt and leaves settle first, then the wind adds whatever it has picked up on the way in from the fields.

✗

When gutters overflow

When a gutter is full, rain spills over the front edge and runs down the brickwork. Over time that turns into damp inside, and then a repair bill.

✗

Green growth

If wet muck sits in the gutter for long, moss roots in and the odd weed follows.

✗

Downpipe blockages

Downpipes often go first, because packed silt stops them dead and the water backs up to the joints.

What our gutter cleaning in Alford covers

We clear gutters, rod downpipes and fit guards on houses and businesses all over Alford, including the farmhouses outside town.

Residential gutters

Leaves and moss lifted out of house gutters, front and back, so the water can run.

Commercial guttering

Longer gutter runs on shops and farm buildings, as well as commercial sites.

Downpipe clearance

Downpipes rodded through when they drain slowly or not at all.

Valley and box gutters

We clear the awkward valley and box sections too.

Plastic or cast iron

Both get a careful clear, so the joints and seals stay as they were.

Gutter guards

We can fit mesh guards so the debris stays out afterwards.

Before you book, a few Alford questions

Q: Do you cover properties on the Lincolnshire Wolds around Alford?

A: We do, including Bilsby, Well, Beesby and Maltby le Marsh. We also know the higher, more exposed houses take more weather.

Q: Do you need to climb onto the roof?

A: Not as a rule, because most of the work is done from the ground. That's safer, and it also gets the job done faster.

Q: Are the downpipes part of the job?

A: Yes, because every downpipe gets cleared as part of the gutter clean.

Q: How will I know when the gutters are clear?

A: We take photos before and after, so you can see what came out.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The operative arrived on time, as arranged. Brought the necessary kit to clean an accumulation of dirt, weeds and debris over several years from our drive and patio. This was accomplished by the end of the working day when all was looking pristine. Surfaces had been cleaned down. A week later they were back to fill the gaps with kiln dried sand and now it looks like new.

My front and back garden look brand new. All slabs are the original colour and weedless and the front is weed free and looks amazing. They worked really hard throughout the day and also returned to finish the work, due to really hot weather. Very good customer service, had a concer and called me back within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend 👌

From start to finish what an absolute pleasure.
No pushy salesman just an authentic genuine quote. Even when I added a couple of bits, nothing was too much trouble. The price was really good too.
Paul and Dale turned up on time on the date stated. Even though the weather was horrible they got cracked on with the job.
They grafted all the time they were there. The work carried out was exceptionally good. They cleaned up all of the mess afterwards and let the place spotless.
I cannot praise them enough.
They treated my mum and her bungalow with the utmost respect.
