Why Caistor properties need moss removal

Caistor is a small hilltop market town on the western edge of the Wolds, with a lot of limestone and brick buildings. Being high up and exposed, it catches plenty of wind and rain. Moss removal in Caistor covers roofs and paving where moss and lichen have taken hold. Moss soaks up all that rain, and over a few winters it can lift roof tiles.

Moss removal in Caistor by Fenland Property Care

Wind, rain and a hilltop town

Limestone and brick on the exposed Wold edge in Caistor take a lot of rain. Where a roof or path doesn’t get the sun, moss moves in fast. Over the years the damp it holds does real damage.

✗

Tiles knocked loose

Roots push under tiles and into the pointing, so water then gets in behind.

✗

Slippery paving

Steps and paths on a slope are tricky enough, but with moss on them they're slippery.

✗

Trapped damp

While moss stays wet, frost gets into stone and brick and does more damage.

✗

Blocked drainage

Moss also slides down into gutters and valleys, then blocks the drainage.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Will the moss come back after treatment?

A: Much more slowly. Even so, exposed roofs that get a lot of rain may need retreating from time to time.

Q: Do you need to get on the roof?

A: Rarely. Since we use ladders and long-reach tools, in most cases nobody walks on the roof at all.

Q: Does moss damage stone and tiles?

A: It does. It holds moisture, so it lifts tiles and pointing, and on paving it's also slippery. Getting it off is safer and better for the house.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes, we carry £1m public liability insurance, and our team is DBS checked.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The operative arrived on time, as arranged. Brought the necessary kit to clean an accumulation of dirt, weeds and debris over several years from our drive and patio. This was accomplished by the end of the working day when all was looking pristine. Surfaces had been cleaned down. A week later they were back to fill the gaps with kiln dried sand and now it looks like new.

My front and back garden look brand new. All slabs are the original colour and weedless and the front is weed free and looks amazing. They worked really hard throughout the day and also returned to finish the work, due to really hot weather. Very good customer service, had a concer and called me back within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend 👌

From start to finish what an absolute pleasure.
No pushy salesman just an authentic genuine quote. Even when I added a couple of bits, nothing was too much trouble. The price was really good too.
Paul and Dale turned up on time on the date stated. Even though the weather was horrible they got cracked on with the job.
They grafted all the time they were there. The work carried out was exceptionally good. They cleaned up all of the mess afterwards and let the place spotless.
I cannot praise them enough.
They treated my mum and her bungalow with the utmost respect.
