Why Heckington properties need moss removal

Heckington is a fen village a few miles east of Sleaford, known for its eight-sailed windmill. The land around it is flat and open, and roofs and paths on the shady side of a house can stay wet for a long time. We do moss removal in Heckington on roofs and on drives and patios. Moss hangs onto that water. On a roof it pushes tiles up, and on a drive it’s slippery.

Moss removal in Heckington by Fenland Property Care

Open fen, damp roofs

Open fenland around Heckington means shaded roofs and paving dry out slowly after rain. Moss moves in on those surfaces and holds the moisture against them.

✗

Tiles on the lift

If roots get under the tiles and pointing, rain then works its way in.

✗

Slippery paving

On a wet drive, moss is slippery enough to put you on the ground.

✗

Trapped damp

Moss holds water in the surface, so frost then splits it more easily.

✗

Blocked drainage

It also falls into gutters and valleys, and before long they block.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Will moss come back after you've treated it?

A: It's much slower to return. Even so, the shady side of an exposed fen roof may need treating again occasionally.

Q: Do you go up on the roof?

A: Usually no. We use ladders and long-reach tools, so in most cases nobody needs to walk on the tiles.

Q: What harm does moss actually do?

A: It holds water, so it lifts tiles and pointing. It's also slippery on paving, so clearing it is safer and better for the house.

Q: Will you clear the patio too?

A: Yes. We clear and treat moss on drives and patios, as well as paths and steps.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The operative arrived on time, as arranged. Brought the necessary kit to clean an accumulation of dirt, weeds and debris over several years from our drive and patio. This was accomplished by the end of the working day when all was looking pristine. Surfaces had been cleaned down. A week later they were back to fill the gaps with kiln dried sand and now it looks like new.

My front and back garden look brand new. All slabs are the original colour and weedless and the front is weed free and looks amazing. They worked really hard throughout the day and also returned to finish the work, due to really hot weather. Very good customer service, had a concer and called me back within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend 👌

From start to finish what an absolute pleasure.
No pushy salesman just an authentic genuine quote. Even when I added a couple of bits, nothing was too much trouble. The price was really good too.
Paul and Dale turned up on time on the date stated. Even though the weather was horrible they got cracked on with the job.
They grafted all the time they were there. The work carried out was exceptionally good. They cleaned up all of the mess afterwards and let the place spotless.
I cannot praise them enough.
They treated my mum and her bungalow with the utmost respect.
