Why Washingborough properties need moss removal

Washingborough is a village in the Witham valley just east of Lincoln, with the river along its northern side. Clay ground and the damp air off the river mean shaded roofs and paths stay wet for a long time. We carry out moss removal in Washingborough on roofs and on drives and patios. Moss keeps them wet, and that’s what eventually pushes tiles up and makes paths treacherous in winter.

Moss removal in Washingborough by Fenland Property Care

River damp and clay

Homes near the river in Washingborough often have roofs and paths that barely dry out in winter. Moss builds up on the shaded side and holds the damp against the surface.

✗

Tiles creeping up

Once roots work under tiles and pointing, rain then soaks in.

✗

Slippery paving

In winter a mossy path is treacherous, especially near the river.

✗

Trapped damp

Because moss keeps paving wet, frost then breaks it up faster.

✗

Blocked drainage

Moss also washes off into gutters, so they block and spill.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Will moss come back near the river?

A: More slowly once treated. Still, shady roofs on wet clay may need retreating from time to time.

Q: Do you go on the roof?

A: Generally not. We use ladders and long-reach tools, so in most cases nobody walks on the tiles.

Q: Does moss damage a house?

A: Yes, because it holds water and pushes tiles up. It's also treacherous on paths, so clearing it is safer.

Q: How do I get a price?

A: Use our instant quote page, or call 07507 732952 and we'll go through it.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The operative arrived on time, as arranged. Brought the necessary kit to clean an accumulation of dirt, weeds and debris over several years from our drive and patio. This was accomplished by the end of the working day when all was looking pristine. Surfaces had been cleaned down. A week later they were back to fill the gaps with kiln dried sand and now it looks like new.

My front and back garden look brand new. All slabs are the original colour and weedless and the front is weed free and looks amazing. They worked really hard throughout the day and also returned to finish the work, due to really hot weather. Very good customer service, had a concer and called me back within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend 👌

From start to finish what an absolute pleasure.
No pushy salesman just an authentic genuine quote. Even when I added a couple of bits, nothing was too much trouble. The price was really good too.
Paul and Dale turned up on time on the date stated. Even though the weather was horrible they got cracked on with the job.
They grafted all the time they were there. The work carried out was exceptionally good. They cleaned up all of the mess afterwards and let the place spotless.
I cannot praise them enough.
They treated my mum and her bungalow with the utmost respect.
