Patio cleaning in Metheringham, just up the road from us

Patio cleaning in Metheringham is close to home for us, as we’re based just up the road in Dunston. The village sits on the fen edge south-east of Lincoln, where damp air keeps paving wet for long spells and algae and moss build up into a green film. Paving that’s left alone stains and gets slippery, especially in winter.

Patio cleaning in Metheringham by Fenland Property Care

Shady patios and pushy weeds

Old brick cottages and new builds in Metheringham end up with the same trouble. When a patio sits in shade it stays damp, and that's when moss takes hold and weeds push up through the joints.

✗

Slippery surfaces

Algae is slippery on a dry day, but after rain it's properly treacherous.

✗

Weed damage

Weeds that root between blocks gradually loosen the paving.

✗

Grey, tired paving

Dirt and algae settle in until the slabs look grey-green, as if they'd been laid that way.

✗

Trapped moisture

Moss holds water against the surface, so frost is more likely to crack it.

Patio cleaning in Metheringham, what we can do

Patio work for houses across Metheringham.

Pressure washing

Concrete flags and slabs get a deep clean, so the ground-in dirt comes out.

Block paving

First we clean it, then the joints are re-sanded so the blocks stay put.

Moss and weed control

Weeds and moss in the joints get killed off, then treated so regrowth is slower.

Natural stone

Sandstone and Indian stone get a softer wash at a pressure that suits them.

Sealing (optional)

A sealant that resists staining and also slows regrowth.

Do the driveway too

If we clean the driveway on the same visit, it generally works out better value.

How our patio cleaning in Metheringham works

Inspection

First we check the surface type, then pick a pressure and method to suit.

Pre-treatment

Then we treat the weeds and thick moss before clearing them.

Deep clean

After that the whole patio is washed evenly until the staining's gone.

Sand or seal

Joints get fresh sand, and if you've asked for it a seal goes on too.

Questions from Metheringham

Q: Is there a risk of damage from pressure washing?

A: Not with how we work. Since we match pressure and method to each surface, natural stone and delicate finishes get a soft wash instead.

Q: Do the blocks get re-sanded?

A: Yes. Kiln-dried sand gets brushed into the joints after the clean, so the blocks stay firm and it looks finished.

Q: Will the weeds come back?

A: Eventually, yes. We kill and clear them, then we can lay a preventative treatment, but the joints still need a fresh treatment every so often.

Q: Is a sealer a good idea?

A: It's optional, so it's up to you. Sealer resists stains and slows regrowth, and if you ask we'll say whether your paving suits it.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The operative arrived on time, as arranged. Brought the necessary kit to clean an accumulation of dirt, weeds and debris over several years from our drive and patio. This was accomplished by the end of the working day when all was looking pristine. Surfaces had been cleaned down. A week later they were back to fill the gaps with kiln dried sand and now it looks like new.

My front and back garden look brand new. All slabs are the original colour and weedless and the front is weed free and looks amazing. They worked really hard throughout the day and also returned to finish the work, due to really hot weather. Very good customer service, had a concer and called me back within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend 👌

From start to finish what an absolute pleasure.
No pushy salesman just an authentic genuine quote. Even when I added a couple of bits, nothing was too much trouble. The price was really good too.
Paul and Dale turned up on time on the date stated. Even though the weather was horrible they got cracked on with the job.
They grafted all the time they were there. The work carried out was exceptionally good. They cleaned up all of the mess afterwards and let the place spotless.
I cannot praise them enough.
They treated my mum and her bungalow with the utmost respect.
