Why Metheringham homes need solar panel cleaning

Solar panels in Metheringham are right on our doorstep, as we’re based next door in Dunston. The village sits on the fen edge south-east of Lincoln, with farmland running out towards the Witham, and dust from those fields ends up on the roofs. Bird mess and moss run-off add to it, and output drops quietly until the panels are cleaned.

Solar panel cleaning in Metheringham by Fenland Property Care

Dust off the fen edge

Around Metheringham, older and newer homes alike get the same fen-edge dust and grime on their panels. So we wash it off with pure water, which is safe on the glass.

✗

Lost generation

When dust and pollen form a film, the panels can lose a noticeable amount of output.

✗

Droppings on the glass

Bird mess shades the cells, and because it’s acidic it can etch the glass if left.

✗

Moss run-off

If the tiles above are mossy, organic run-off streaks down and shades the array.

✗

Warranty care

High pressure or abrasive pads can damage panels, so pure water is how we do it.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Does cleaning make panels produce more?

A: Yes. When dirt, bird mess and moss run-off are cleared, the light gets back to the cells and generation goes up.

Q: Is it safe to clean my panels?

A: Yes. Pure de-ionised water and soft brushes are all we use, so there’s no abrasive pad or high pressure.

Q: How often should panels be cleaned?

A: Once a year is enough for most homes, although panels near trees or birds may need more.

Q: Will you go on the roof?

A: Generally no, because our water-fed reach poles let us clean safely from the ground.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The operative arrived on time, as arranged. Brought the necessary kit to clean an accumulation of dirt, weeds and debris over several years from our drive and patio. This was accomplished by the end of the working day when all was looking pristine. Surfaces had been cleaned down. A week later they were back to fill the gaps with kiln dried sand and now it looks like new.

My front and back garden look brand new. All slabs are the original colour and weedless and the front is weed free and looks amazing. They worked really hard throughout the day and also returned to finish the work, due to really hot weather. Very good customer service, had a concer and called me back within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend 👌

From start to finish what an absolute pleasure.
No pushy salesman just an authentic genuine quote. Even when I added a couple of bits, nothing was too much trouble. The price was really good too.
Paul and Dale turned up on time on the date stated. Even though the weather was horrible they got cracked on with the job.
They grafted all the time they were there. The work carried out was exceptionally good. They cleaned up all of the mess afterwards and let the place spotless.
I cannot praise them enough.
They treated my mum and her bungalow with the utmost respect.
