Decking cleaning in Spalding by the Welland

Spalding is in the middle of the South Holland fens, with the River Welland running through it and bulb fields all around. The land is flat, so water sits on drives and paths rather than running off. Wind carries dark fen soil onto properties, and staining and green growth come back faster than in the higher parts of the county.

What damp does to Spalding decks

With the Welland and the drains all around, decks in Spalding stay damp most of the year. They pick up a thick, slippery coating quicker than decks in drier parts of Lincolnshire.

✗

Slippery coating

Decks in Spalding stay damp, so algae builds into a slippery coating. But a gentle soft wash removes it safely.

✗

Black mould

When black mould sits on and between the boards, it's got into the surface. It's treated first, then cleaned off without damaging the wood.

✗

Greying & weathering

Sun and algae grey timber decking over time. Still, a proper clean brings much of the original colour back.

✗

Fen soil in the gaps

Dark fen soil and moss fill the gaps and hold water, so the boards age faster. We clear them out every time.

How decking cleaning in Spalding works

Free survey and quote

We look at the deck, timber or composite, how big it is and its condition. Then you get a fixed price, with no obligation.

Biocide pre-treatment

Before washing, a biocide goes on to kill algae and mould, so the result lasts longer on flat, wet ground.

Soft washing

Then a low-pressure soft wash takes the residue off, while timber doesn't splinter and composite doesn't mark.

Between-board clearing

After that, we clear the moss and soil from the gaps.

Rinse & clear

Finally we take the waste away. When the deck dries, generally in a couple of hours, it's ready again.

Decking cleaning in Spalding, your questions answered

Q: Will pressure washing damage decking?

A: It can. High pressure splits timber and marks composite, so we soft wash at low pressure. That way algae and mould come off and the surface stays intact.

Q: Can composite decking be cleaned safely?

A: Yes, composite responds well to a soft wash. Our methods are also safe for all the major brands, so they won't void the manufacturer's warranty.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes, we carry £1m public liability insurance, and everyone on our team is DBS checked, so you know who's at your home.

Q: Should I oil the deck afterwards?

A: On timber, yes, because oil or stain protects the wood and keeps it looking good for longer. We can suggest products that suit.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The operative arrived on time, as arranged. Brought the necessary kit to clean an accumulation of dirt, weeds and debris over several years from our drive and patio. This was accomplished by the end of the working day when all was looking pristine. Surfaces had been cleaned down. A week later they were back to fill the gaps with kiln dried sand and now it looks like new.

My front and back garden look brand new. All slabs are the original colour and weedless and the front is weed free and looks amazing. They worked really hard throughout the day and also returned to finish the work, due to really hot weather. Very good customer service, had a concer and called me back within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend 👌

From start to finish what an absolute pleasure.
No pushy salesman just an authentic genuine quote. Even when I added a couple of bits, nothing was too much trouble. The price was really good too.
Paul and Dale turned up on time on the date stated. Even though the weather was horrible they got cracked on with the job.
They grafted all the time they were there. The work carried out was exceptionally good. They cleaned up all of the mess afterwards and let the place spotless.
I cannot praise them enough.
They treated my mum and her bungalow with the utmost respect.
